The Barking Radio & Electronics Society was an Amateur Radio and Electronics club. Unfortunately, due to lack of members and dwindling funds, it was decided to discontinue the club at the last AGM, early in 2012. The last meeting of BRES was held at the end of March 2012. Members have moved on to HDARS and LEFARS.
The Barking Radio & Electronics society had a wide range of members from from different backgrounds and with different interests. As well as the more traditional modes of operation such as CW (morse code) and telephony (voice), members experimented with new and upcoming digital modes such as Weak Signal Propagation Reporter (WSPR), QRSS and PSK31.
The club was involved in many things since it’s founding in 1966, with construction kits and projects to radio events and contesting. See our Events page for more about these.
