All About BRES

Barking Radio & Electronics Society was founded in 1966 and originally met in a school on Gascoine Road, Barking.  When the school was demolished we were offered a room in the Westbury Education Centre, Ripple Road, Barking where the club flourished until September 1999.

During this time, around 100 people attended Radio Amateurs Examination (RAE) courses with the club.  Many of the current members of the club are ex-students whom moved with the club to it’s new location

The club now meets at the Parkside Community Centre in Goodmayes where it has been since 1999.

The club is a varied mix of people with members from academia and professional communications backgrounds to the true amateur hobbyist, both young and old.  This gives members a chance to discuss problems and reach solutions.

We always welcome new members, so why not come and pay us a visit at the Parkside Community Centre?  Click the visit us link on the menu to find where we meet.
