In September 2007 following an e-mail contact we had a visit from Pat Fitzgerald from Colorado USA he was over here on some family business and had read about BRES in the ARRL magazine he originally asked if he could operate from the club station so I offered him a visit to the Secret Nuclear Bunker at Kelvedon Hatch and on Saturday 15th Sept. I picked him up from Barking Tube station and drove up to the bunker where he was a guest operator for the day sadly conditions were not very good and there were no contacts to the USA, we did manage some operation to Europe on 40m and a few VHF contacts. I was also able to give Pat an unofficial tour of the site which he found quite informative
